Congressman Womack Re-elected to Lead West Point Board of Visitors

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Steve Womack has been unanimously re-elected to serve his ninth term as the Chairman of the United States Military Academy at West Point Board of Visitors (BOV). The Arkansas representative will continue his leadership role on the influential board, which plays a crucial advisory function for the nation's premier military institution.

The West Point Board of Visitors is tasked with providing essential advice and recommendations across a broad spectrum of institutional matters. Its purview includes critical areas such as cadet morale and discipline, curriculum development, instructional methodologies, physical equipment, fiscal management, and academic standards, among other significant issues impacting the academy's operations and future.

Upon his re-election, Congressman Womack expressed his profound gratitude and commitment. "I am deeply honored and privileged to once again be chosen as Chairman of the West Point Board of Visitors," Womack stated. "Witnessing young men and women dedicate themselves to the rigorous 47-month journey at West Point, transforming into officers of character for the world's finest Army, is incredibly inspiring. The cadets, including those proudly representing Arkansas's Third District, exemplify exceptional individuals who prioritize service above self. Ensuring their continued success is paramount to strengthening both our Army and our nation. I extend my sincere thanks to my fellow Board members for this honor and the ongoing opportunity to serve alongside them."

Congressman Womack's long-standing dedication to West Point began with his initial appointment to the Board of Visitors in 2012. He was subsequently elected as the BOV chairman in 2017, a position he has held continuously since, demonstrating consistent support for the academy and its mission.
